Celestials

The two wolf-like creatures who were believed to have created the world of Osrade, including the life-forms that inhabit it. While most other animals don't believe in these deities, most if not all wolves on the islands believe in these same creatures to be the sole creators, though they may also have divines that accompany them. These creatures have a general set of agreed colors and specific features, but their features and even markings are up to interpretation to each individual.

Yoruba and Thanatos

Referred to as the "Celestials", "Two Creators" or "The Giver and The Reaper", they appear only to the Head Spiritual Rank or those with the ability to see into the ethereal plane, where spirits are. They are practically giants compared to the average wolf, even towering over saber cats and harpies. Technically neither have a gender, and appear as either, both or neither based on the individual, going along with their appearance. Yoruba is known for creating those with the more peaceful minds and temptations, the herbivores, along with the plants, water and morning sky. Thanatos is known for creating those more destructive, the carnivores, along with the rocky earth, strong winds and cover of the night. Deciding that there needed to be more in the land, both Yoruba and Thanatos created the natural disasters and storms, the omnivores and even the poisonous plants. Neither are evil nor are they good, in fact they do not understand emotions nor are able to comprehend what separates "good and evil", however they do watch all creatures from above and how their societies develop.

Appearance: Yoruba normally takes on the more feminine form, with a dark grey coat tinted with green, a rich and bright green set of markings, contrasting red eyes and leathers, and long, wavy fur that drags on their tail. They have shown up with many other sorts of features, including wings, mist, horns and different types of tails. Their green markings are always whispy and curled, often mimicking the look of vines, leaves, and berries, though can be in different densities depending on those seeing them

Appearance: Thanatos normally takes on the more masculine form, with a pale coat, and bright gold set of markings, indigo eyes and nails, and with long, spiked fur. They have shown up with many other shorts of features, including wings, mist, horns and different types of tails. Their yellow markings are always sort of jagged and strange, similar to cracks or even lightning, though can be in different densities depending on those seeing them.

Divines

The Celestials, on rare occasions, gift recently deceased wolves that have impacted the mortal world in some way, no matter if it was good or bad. These wolves are given specific forms and are changed to be similar to the Celestials, though only in physical features. Divines are much smaller than Celestials but still larger than the majority of mortal wolves or wolf spirits from the ethereal plane. Some even have connections to things in the physical world, that being usually mutations or animals that represent them.

Balwinder, Divine of War

It has been told that the wolf’s pack was invaded once by another pack, of which they fought multiple times. Eventually the wolf decided to declare war to stand ground against the invaders and protect their pack’s land. They made a plan and told his fellow warriors what do do if he dies in battle, giving them a back up plan in case that did happen. They went into battle, being the same on each side, and the courage of the wolves felt unbeatable. During the battle, the courageous and strategic wolf died with their honor. This gave the warriors passion to protect their pack, and they used the back up plan from the brave warrior to win the war. They howled in victory, and it roared across the landscape. Due to their contribution to the way warriors fight, how the plans are made and how passionate the warriors are in wolf packs, they were gifted the horns, size and eyes of fire, and are sat beside the Giver and Reaper, along with others that have done contributions.

Appearance: This wolf, though original name lost to time, appears as huge with a dark brown and grey-brown coat, with giant ram like horns on their head and various scar like marks. Their eyes burned a cold blue and their features deeper blue-grey. They say that this wolf had given courage to their packmates and went into war to protect their pack bravely.

Chasen, Divine of Hunting

It is said that this wolf had a unique and strategic mind, but was also overly curious. This lead to them learning to hunt odd prey, such as boar, fish and birds. They taught their fellow hunters what to do and taught them what not to hunt when those tactics failed on some “prey”. Unfortunately their curiosity lead to their death, when trying to hunt a giant boar, being impaled by the creature and dying on impact. Due to their contribution to the way wolves hunt now, they were gifted the ears and tail, and are sat beside the Giver and Reaper, along with others that have done contributions.

Appearance: This wolf, though original name lost to time, is seen as lean light brown and cream with long ears and ear tufts, a short tail, small antlers, and purple features. The ears and tail give it a swift, almost rabbit like appearance and they are known as the wolf of the Hunt. This wolf helped create strategies that are used within hunting parties and taught to the young hunters, to help have a better chance at getting a meal.

Akhilarka, Divine of Health

As legends say, this wolf's pack was plagued with an ancient fatal disease, previously with no known cure. The list of known medical herbs and mixtures was limited in terms of uses and what may work, so this wolf put their apprentice in charge of caring for the sick with what they had as they traveled to find the correct herbs. During their travels they met with many sick or injured wolves that allowed the healer to try out different medical items, eventually accumulating the commonly known healing list that medics and healers use to this day. After returning to the pack, a large collection of herbs and medical items with them, they created a cure for the plague just in time to save the remaining members of the pack that were affected. Throughout their life they continued to discover cures for other various diseases.

Appearance: This wolf, though original name lost to time, is seen with long, feather like fur that gently covers the ground, covered in growing herbs and seemingly painting a trail of pale plants. Their eyes are bright pink, seemingly shining with wisdom beyond what anyone could comprehend. They are the cause of the belief of white or albino plants being lucky or healing. This wolf helped find the list of herbs known on the land and cure an old, unknown, deadly disease throughout their entire pack.

Jinan, Divine of Exploration
Jinan.png

It has been told that the first winged wolf fell down in history as the creator of the original Osarade map. This along with the fact of the first winged wolf supposedly being Jinan, "The Traveler", it makes the ancestor all the more interesting. This wolf grew up different, with a need to explore the skies, the waters, the lands, overall just a spirit unable to rest for even a few days. This wolf left their friends, their home, their family and headed off with a large piece of parchment and some supplies, taking off into the sky early in the morning. Years pass with the traveler meeting other wolves, naming special landmarks and learning of the land. Following a rumor of a marsh with many valuable herbs growing, the traveler flew over the last island to take a look. However the winds grew stronger and a mysterious thick fog persisted as they tried to land. Giving up from the air approach, they moved down towards the swamp barrier that caused the wolf to feel unnerved. Taking a deep breath the winged wolf didn't notice the map had flown out of it's securing case, being left behind as they continued into the mist. The map was later discovered by a wanderer, though the winged wolf was never seen again.

Appearance: This wolf, though the original name lost to time, has been said to appear with wings taller than the tallest trees, with a thin figure. The short fur has a constant wind blown appearance, and often a soft breeze accompanies the visit from the wolf. Their eyes are a bright, royal orange. They are known for naming and locating all the special landmarks and waterways, creating the first known map.

Asvini, Divine of Mischief

Not overly much is known of Asvini, though most legends are spread from rumors. The wolf supposedly ran from group to group, organization to organization, even if those groups or organizations were opposing enemies. They spoke to foxes, coyotes, snakes and even crows, which assisted in their spying on various places at multiple times. They truly never sided with any group, even if the morals aligned with theirs, instead deciding to create tensions between the groups and watch the chaos ensue from war, sitting silently on the sidelines watching from the shadows.

Appearance: This wolf, though original name lost to time, is known to have a ghostly, smoke like appearance that changes physical shape to take the look of a snake, fox or raven. In their natural form, they are small in size with a delicate body structure, devious lime green eyes that have been known to trick those they meet. This wolf is known for tricking many, never taking a true side, simply stirring trouble and rumors.

Hunapo, Divine of Plague

Once there was a tale told that ended rather unhappily, with the death of many ending it. An unfortunate wolf, while traveling, met a wolf of great beauty and grace, and decided to take the wolf home with them. The stranger this wolf fell in love with was certainly thin and became tired often, making their trek to the pack this wolf called home, rather difficult. Shortly after arriving, this beautiful wolf collapsed, seemingly suddenly. The beauty shortly turned practically into a corpse, thin and covered in the crimson liquid, commonly associated with death or disease. Shortly after the dwindling life in the creature faded, the strange plague began to spread. One by one, wolves of the pack dropped like flies, becoming nothing but a lifeless body used to carry the plague and slowly spread it more. The eventual ending left the wolf alone, their own body beginning to give in to the sickness as they tried to travel away from the site. The plague soon caught up to them, leaving their body nothing more than a contagious corpse.

Appearance: This wolf, though original name lost to time, appears as a frail, ill looking figure with darker fur and a form which constantly deteriorates or "flakes away", though the form never disappearing fully. Their eyes are a sickly yellow that faintly glowed and an odd, thick liquid always drips slowly out of their mouth. This wolf is known to be an open for death or sickness, having brought a terrible sickness that wiped out their entire pack.
