They are shards of the green-orange crystals at are rumored to be pieces stars that have fallen and grown into crystals, while they are also rumored to be pure ethereal essence that the Celestials placed in Star's Reach stones and Mount Dandria's cave. In either case, they are treasured. However over the course of generations, shards of these were found and collected across the land, in caves or sometimes simply growing around the Star's Reach.
