Design and Mutations

-Acceptable Colors and Markings

Various shades of grey, red, brown, blonde, cream, white, and even blue-grey, grey-brown/dull brown or red-brown are all acceptable colors for this roleplay. Markings can be from similar to a wolf's, to a domestic dog. Merle, tricolor, sable and even brindle are examples of coat colors you can imitate in interesting ways. As with the real world, mutations are rare to see, so if you wish to have a mutation please contact the owner or co-owner for instructions.

These rare markings and mutations can only take up 20% or 1/5 of your characters! If you are unsure about what that is, please ask the owner or co-owner!

Swirls

These swirls and designs only appear on a rare select of wolves, in special designs. They commonly appear on the shoulders, top of back legs, tail and sides of face. They aren't always 'swirls' in design and can include "droplet" or dot like designs next to the larger designs.

Odd Spots

These spots are odd, often commonly appearing on the shoulders, top of the back legs, tail and sometimes the face. There aren't many on the wolf and they often vary in size. They are very uncommon to see on wolves.

Spotted Stripes

These stripes often have a darker border with a lighter color on the inside of said stripes. They are similar in design to some jungle cats with special stripes. They commonly appear on the back, tail and sides of face. They are uncommon to see on wolves.

Odd Stripes

These stripes are more of a wild cat's, less spotted and more defined. They also often have a border with a lighter inside, similar to the spotted stripes. They commonly appear on the back, shoulders, face and tail. They are extremely rare to be seen on wolves.

Sparse Stripes

These stripes are simply sparse and are similar to some wild cats as well. They commonly appear on the back, face and tail and are extremely rare to be seen on wolves.

These stripes are odd, though they are thin and normally wrap in a small, circle like area. They commonly appear on the back, front legs and face, and are uncommon to see.

Thin Stripes and Spots

This set of markings is only passed in the bloodline of Ambrosia (a character owned by FoxiUzumaki), and even then it is a rare sight. They commonly appear somewhere on the back, shoulders and top of the back legs.

-Special Markings

These special markings are allowed (In moderation!) to be used on characters. However, these are not common and can only be on a small amount of characters in the community. Please remember that the staff has permission to ask you to change to a natural marking pattern from these special ones. Only 1 can appear on a singular wolf and they are rarely passed down. However, they can be designed in a many different ways, as long as they are in their respective places and in similar style of brush strokes.

*In order to create a wolf with a special marking set, you must purchase a ground marrow item from one of the marketplaces.

-Note: Please keep in mind that small amounts of normally unusual markings, such as tiny little stripes in odd places like the tail or on one leg, will not count for any of these special markings and are absolutely allowed on a character! If you are unsure contact either the owner or co-owner for clarification~

-Coat Mutations
Leucism

Rather than the loss of melanin, Leucsistic creatures suffer from the lack of pigment. This means they still have pigment but only appear as light creams and pinks. Their unnatural markings can only be shades of pink/salmon, though their eyes can be any sort of light pigmented color, except for pink, white and grey. White markings can also appear, though it is hard to distinguish them against the cream coat. Wolves like this get ill easily and have weak eyesight, hearing, flight and powers.

*In order to create a mutated wolf, you must purchase a star's reach chip item from one of the marketplaces.

Albinism is the low production of or lack of melanin in the body, meaning that they appear white or light grey at the darkest. Their unnatural markings are always pink/salmon, and their eyes can only appear in 4 varieties; pink, red, pale blue, and pale blue w/ purple tint. They are allowed to have pale color tints if wanted, but they must be faint. They are often ill and have weak eyesight, hearing, flight and powers.
A special case of this is Ocular Albinism, making the eyes take one of the pale colors specific to albinism and making it so specifically the eyes are affected in terms of medical issues.

Melanism

Melanism is the overproduction of melanin in the body, making the body always appear dark grey or even black. The hue can vary slightly, though its subtle and can even go unnoticed. Their skin is always black, and deep, often dull eyecolor. No light, white or colorful markings or colors appear on these wolves, making them extremely dark compared to most. It is rather uncommon for them to have unnaturally colored markings.

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is the continual lack of pigment over time, often in splotchy, patch like markings that appear drastically paler than the base coat, or white. While this poses no threat to health, eyes that are affected may be more sensitive. This can do as much as cover the body with patches to only appearing in a small area, but are very noticeable and start appearing at a rather young age. They are unlikely to be symmetrical.

Somatic

Somatic mutation is the overproduction of pigment in splotchy, patch like markings. Often these are small, contrasting Vitiligo, and a darker color than the base coat, or black. This does not pose a threat but can cause eyes to become darker in color when affected. They only appear in small areas, being smaller, and can be mistaken for markings but are never symmetrical. They do not spread over time, and can be seen at birth.
